Steve Petzold, on behalf of all the Sealers up in the 38th Assembly District would like to thank Ed Elks and all of the Legion members of Post 507 Newhall/Saugus for their help during our petition drive.
 
American Legion Post 507 has been very supportive from the first day that they were contacted.  The post circulated the petition within their Newhall facility, advised all  American Legion members to sign at the dedication of the Veteran's Historical Memorial, allowed us to speak at their monthly meeting, and invited me to attend their officer installation dinner.
 
In addition, we are invited to come over to their facility after the Santa Clarita Valley Fourth of July Parade.  Lest I forget the participation of the Ladies Auxiliary, let me mention it here
 
American Legion Post 507 under the direction of Commander Ed Elks is to be thanked and used as an excellent example of the partnering we can use during our drive to reach the signature goal.

Dear Sealers,
 
Please see the attached pictures of the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast in Santa Clarita.  We had a really good day.
 
Michael Antonovich talked extensively about the removal of the cross from the LA County Seal.   I sure wish that we had his comments recorded.  He was very eloquent and defined the issue well.

Mayor Cameron Smyth announced that he would serve as the Co Chairman of Save the Seal in the 38th Assembly District.
 
Television journalist Larry Carrol gave a very emotional presentation about the power of prayer and how it has sustained him in times of trouble.  Larry signed our petition and agreed to endorse our efforts.
 
We had our petition table going full blast after the breakfast and we got eighty signatures.
 
Special thanks to Jim Pavic who let us use his LA County Flag.  It really makes a great impression and acts as a magnet for petition signors.
 
Let our efforts and successes help to encourage each other.
