Nubia?
I read today
that ancient Native American religious carvings are in danger of being
destroyed by environmental damage in Michigan. The city and state government
is going to intervene to preserve them but I assume the A.C.L.U. is going
to file a lawsuit based on the separation of church and state argument.
How could government money be allowed to preserve a religion?
Native Americans and others could argue that it represents history but
how is that any different than wanting to preserve the tiny cross on the
L.A. County Seal? Sadly, the repeated rebuttal I've received to that point
is that, "you have enough." Apply that same argument to the
Native Americans. Would anyone dare say that they have enough to remember
their culture and history?
Certainly
not. The reason for the hypocrisy is that this country perceives Christians
to have the power, so to speak. The "oppressed" have long been
romanticized to the point that they can do no wrong and are above reproach.
These people
should be made aware that Americans make up only four percent of this
planet's population and Earth's history goes back slightly longer than
1776. For example, the ancient civilization of Nubia, which lies between
Sudan and Egypt, was once a Christian civilization. Most people don't
know that because it's history has been nearly destroyed by intolerance.
When the Arabs invaded, a peace treaty required that the Nubians send
400 slaves per year to the Middle East in exchange for cloth, horses and
the freedom to practice Christianity. Eventually, when the Arabs were
strong enough, they didn't need a treaty. They took the slaves, raped
the non-Muslim women and banned Christianity.
Luckily, if the Nubians converted, they were deemed worthy of freedom.
The same events occur in present day Sudan. The indigenous people (black)
are forced into slavery and systematically raped because they are Christian.
If you want proof, put the name "Francis Bok" into a search
engine and read about his story. He escaped his slave master in Sudan
and now lives in Boston. This happened in the 1990's not the 1790's.
Their churches
are raided and burned to the ground while the Progressives of this country
preach about finding "more important issues" than fighting religious
intolerance. After 2,000 years of Christians being oppressed, I think
it's time for some progress.
Many archeologists
believe that Nubia was the birthplace of all mankind. Would you have signed
a petition to preserve it's culture? Or do you think we have enough to
remember it by?
Perhaps I'm
being overly dramatic. Maybe the issue isn't that important. But how many
of you could find Nubia on a map, let alone knew that it even existed
in the first place?

People
often ask me why I would give up my only day off to support the L.A.
County Seal. It's just a seal. Who even knew it was there in the first
place? I say it's a stepping stone.
A man from Europe proved my point this past Sunday. He insisted that
America must be a secular nation because Europe is secular and Americans
are
all really Europeans. (by virtue of being white)
Again we see the Leftist Collectivism that has wreaked havoc on our planet.
The same manner of thinking that is responsible for racism and genocide.
He went on to say that you shouldn't be able to freely express your religion
(as specifically guaranteed in our Constitution). In his opinion, religion
should only be allowed to be practiced in a person's home, behind closed
doors.
That sounds eerily similar to the Ultra-Leftist nations like the former
Soviet Union and present day China. Or Tibet where the Dalai Lama's picture
can't even be shown and any nation around the world that hosts him will
be
on China's "bad side". A better example for the so called "Progressives",
the first Christians also had to practice in secret.
>From the Mayflower to a 1957 Chevy on pontoons, people have fled their
intolerant homelands, braving impossible odds, to reach this land which
has
pledged an eternal promise; freedom of religion.
Our Constitution guarantees that a religion will not be forced upon you,
which is the true meaning of separation of church and state. There will
be
no Church of England for example. However, religion being a belief system
of the highest importance, who will stop the A.C.L.U. from forcing their
religion on us?
The answer is, "I will". Will you? See you Sunday on 3rd Street
Promenade.
