The 8 1/2 X 11 Petition is a total of 10 pages, not including the instruction sheet. Make sure that all 10 pages are stapled in the correct order.

You can print the petition one page at a time, and print it on the back of the previous sheet. Total of 5 signatures per petition.

The 8 1/2 X 14 petition is a total of 8 pages. You Must use legal size paper to print it out. You can print one page at a time using both sides.

Total of 17 signatures per petition.

Hard copies of the petition (4 pages with 17 signatures) will be available at various locations throughout the county of Los Angeles.

You may print or photocopy as many blank petitions as you wish. Be sure to photocopy BLANK petitions from an original (clean) printed version of the petition. Do not alter the size of the petition.

There are county regulations with regards to print size and items which must be on a signature page.

County regulations provide very strict guidelines on obtaining valid initiative petition signatures. Signatures that are improperly collected will be invalid and will not be counted. Please follow these directions carefully.


RULES FOR CIRCULATING & SIGNING

All CIRCULATORS AND SIGNERS, of a petition must be REGISTERED VOTERS of LOS ANGELES COUNTY.

The person who circulates the petition, even if that person only "circulates" the petition to himself/herself, MUST complete and sign the "Declaration of Circulator" section on the last page of the petition.

Print your name and residence address, exactly as you are registered to vote, on the top line.

Sign your name on the bottom line and list your city and zip code.

You do not have to fill in all signature blocks for the petition to be valid. You may submit your petition with as few as one signature.

The person circulating the petition MUST fill out completely the section entitled "DECLARATION OF CIRCULATOR" at the bottom of the initiative petition form. That includes printing the circulator's full name (the same used when the circulator registered to vote) and the address where the circulator is registered to vote ˆ and make sure to include the starting and ending dates between which signatures were gathered.

When all the signatures are gathered, the circulator MUST sign the bottom of the "DECLARATION OF CIRCULATOR" section of the petition; and then write in the date and location ( CITY ) of signing.
